يشكل الربان بحارة السفينة ويجري العقود الضرورية ويتخذ كل التدابير النافعة لاجل الرحلة.
انما ليس له ان يقوم بهذه الاعمال الا بموافقة مجهز السفينة اذا اتفق وجود هذا المجهز او ممثله
في محل اجرائها.
