يتولى المركز تنظيم فهرس موحد للتعريف بالمصنفات المتوفرة في المكتبات ومركز
المعلومات والتوثيق في المملكة يبين فيه
المكان الذي يوجد فيه كل مصنف، كما تحدد فيه المكتبات ومراكز المعلومات والتوثيق التي
يشملها الفهرس الموحد والالتزامات
والواجبات المطلوبة منها بقرار من الوزير.
