يجري التدقيق في التقرير البحري الذي ينشئه الربان اما عفوا اذا ارتأت السلطة ذات الصلاحية ان
تقرر اجراء تحقيق واما
بناء على طلب الربان او اي شخص آخر له مصلحة في الأمر.
ويجري التحقيق امام رئيس المحكمة البدائية وفي الخارج امام القنصل الاردني اذا وجد والا فأمام
السلطة القضائية ذات
الصلاحية فيستمع الى افراد البحارة والركاب ويقبل اي اثبات آخر.
ان التقارير غير المدقق فيها ليست مقبولة للدفاع عن الربان ولا تصلح للاثبات امام القضاء.
