يشترط في عقد التأمين البحري أن تكون السفينة صالحة للملاحة لغايات مواجهة أخطار البحر
الاعتيادية المؤم َّن منها بموجب شهادة رسمية منذ بداية الرحلة أو بدء التأمين ولغاية انتهاء
الرحلة أو وصول الميناء الذي يشمله العقد.
