يشترط لمزاولة مهنة عامل اجتماعي أن يكون من الحاصلين على شهادة الثانوية العامة فما
دون وأن يكون قد التحق ببرامج تدريبية مهنية متخصصة تحددها المديرية وتعتمدها اللجنة لا يقل
( عدد ساعاتها عن 100 ) ساعة تدريبية وأن يجتاز بنجاح الاختبارات الخاصة بهذه البرامج.
